A Letter from Clem
When I started in this industry as a freelancing Audio-Visual Technician, I was fresh out of college and had no idea what I was doing. I was an Independent Contractor/business owner who didn’t know up from down, and I didn’t know how to begin finding my way. I didn’t know who to talk to about budgeting, bookkeeping, accounting, health insurance, and certainly not financial planning. But, years and countless bumps in the road later, I made it.
Now, through my missteps, today’s Independent Contractors won’t have to go through the same trials and tribulations. Thanks to the book
Career Projection 101, Independent Contractors will have the guide to create a successful business and balanced life that didn’t exist for me. This grid and framework for freelancer lifestyle management led to the creation of
CLEMCO.HR and the Harrod’s IC Lounge & Networking Series. Through these entities, small business owners and entrepreneurs will gain the back-office support they need to ensure their long-term success.
When I retired as an Independent Contractor after 15 years of serving an organization, I realized I was ill-prepared for the road ahead. My eyes were opened to the nonexistent 401K or IRA retirement plans, and I was forced to reevaluate my future. With that understanding, I created what is needed for the success of others. Now, I ask that you support our cause as we try to educate freelancers for their present day and beyond.
